I am committed to creating memorable portraiture— images that express something true about yourself and what is unfolding in the moment.

Philip Krayna has over 30 years of experience as a designer, photographer and visual creative. He is the Chief Creative Officer of Modiv Design, a design and creative consultancy based in Oakland, California, and a Senior Lecturer in the Design Department at San Jose State University.

He began his career at the studio of renowned publication designer Roger Black in New York City, assisting with the redesign of prominent magazines including Esquire, Time, and Smart Money. While in New York, I also worked as assistant photo editor at Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine. After relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area, Philip deepened his knowledge of visual storytelling by serving as an assistant art director at the International Fund for Documentary Photography and Mother Jones magazine, which is renowned for its long-form photo essays and reportage.
